Train crash near Burnsville results in one death

A woman was reportedly killed after the vehicle she was driving was struck by a train near Burnsville, according to an article published in the Selma Times-Journal on April 26.

According to reports, a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Candis Solomon was struck by a train on April 25 near Alabama Highway 14 and Dallas County Road 826. The train collision caused Solomon’s vehicle to roll over into a ditch, fire chief Steve Brewer stated. Responding medical crews failed to revive Solomon who was responsive at the time they arrived on the scene. Authorities are attempting to determine whether or not Solomon’s vehicle was moving at the time that the crash took place.
