A woman who was out for a morning run suffered injuries on Wednesday, November 20 after she was struck by a vehicle, according to a report from the Birmingham Patch.
According to Birmingham Police Department Lt. Terry Kiernan, the accident happened at around 9 a.m. when a 30-year-old Birmingham woman was jogging on westbound Lincoln. She was struck by a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old girl while trying to cross the street. The jogger was brought to the hospital after sustaining injuries from the crash.
The driver of the vehicle, who was not hurt in the accident, said she failed to see the pedestrian due to ice covering her front windshield.
