Window washer survives falling more than 100 feet

A window washer fell 13 stories while working on the Children’s Hospital of Alabama building last month. The hospital he was working on is still under construction. The window washer was conscious when paramedics arrived to take him to a nearby hospital.

The window washer was stepping onto a platform when his safety equipment malfunctioned. Fortunately, the equipment was still functional enough to slow his otherwise certainly fatal fall.

The man’s fall was further broken at the ground level by some newly-planted shrubbery and mulch.
