A 57-year-old man was killed in a car crash near Elgin on Saturday.
The accident occurred as the man drove a Chevy truck westbound on U.S. 72 and another car ran into the back of his vehicle. This impact caused the man’s vehicle to flip and roll multiple times off of the roadway.
The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the second vehicle was arrested for driving under the influence. He remained in jail on Saturday night on a $2,000 bail.
